I will be adding to this section as I go along and finding great blogs. The first one I ablsoutley love is "Beading Arts" by Cindi Lavin.
She features and promotes artists with all sorts of various mediums. She is one of the very few I subscribe to and can't wait until I get her email every week. Great job Cindi! Keep up the good work.

The best news!
My stress level is down. I contribute some of the stress to family issues, (who doesn't have them?) and also now that it is finally over, winter. So, I am onward and upward with a new attitude and fresh ideas for jewelry. I also have a friend, a great friend, who happens to own a jewelry store and has asked me to place some of my pieces in her shop! I am so excited about this. The exposure I will get from this may just put me on the map! We shall see. So stay tuned, (talking to cyberspace, because I have no followers) and I will let you know how it goes.

Stressed out? You bet!
For the last 6 months my life has been more stressful than I'd really like it to be. Something I know to be true though is that working with beads, making something from scratch, coming up with an idea and searching for the perfect colors and textures to make a project come together, has been the best stress reliever around.
I have been disabled since 2003 and therefore cannot work, do physical activity, or get out of the house much as others do to relieve there stress by walking, running, etc., but I can do beadwork. And I am not too bad at it, actually I get alot of praise for my work.
I mentioned the other day to someone, the economy is isn't getting any better right now, so people are holding on to any extra cash they have. Basically they aren't buying my jewelry. I really don't have a clue as to what I will ever do with all my finished items, but you know what? that's okay.
I can sit at the table and bead my stress away.
Next time your stress level is out of control, get into a hobby, you'll be surprised at how much it helps. Oh ya, and don't forget to pray.

Do you ever wait for the postman?
For the first time since I was a small child, yesterday I found myself waiting excitedly for the postman to drive up to the end of my driveway. I order jewelry supplies through a group to obtain better prices and thus turn around to give better prices on my jewelry to the public. After checking my emails I realized my first big order from a particularly awesome distributor was to be delivered today. I also had quite a few supplies in the order that I was going to be using for Christmas gifts, so if it came today, then I would have one day more to work on some of my jewelry gifts.
It felt like I was a little kid again. Who would have thought that at the age of 50#$>..,$%* you could get excited and feel that way again. So now you know, order something online, something you really want and you too can feel like a child again.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Today is the First day of the rest of my Blog!
December 13, 2011
My first day! I will introduce myself for those of you who have not met me.
My name is Carolyn Turner. I am proud to be a member of the First Nations tribe called the Gitxsan. Our tribe originates in the Northwest coast of Canada. That is where my mother was born and raised.
I strive to make my jewelry contain a native flair to each piece whenever possible. I use natural gemstones in most of my work. I also love to do leatherwork whenever possible. Right now I am spending most of my time making one of a kind, unique pieces of jewelry. I drop everything if I get a custom order in for leatherwork. Such as moccasins, mukluks and native apparel.
I will update you more of my background as I go. For today, I think this is enough.
I will say, I love what I do and spend an enormous amount of time and effort in the planning of any piece of work I do. Making jewelry and gifts is my lifelong hobby. If you rush whatever it is that you are doing, then it will look rushed. Thanks for reading today.
